Cosmelan® Depigmentation Treatment

Pigmentation or skin discolorations are a consequence of many factors such as; sun exposure, aging, hormonal fluctuation due to pregnancy or menopause and trauma to the skin such as acne. Successfully treating these skin imperfections is possible, lightening the visible discolorations and inhibiting the cycle which causes pigment to surface later can be achieved with Cosmelan Depigmentation Treatment.

Cosmelan® treatment consists of two phases. It is imperative that both be used according to direction to achieve complete success:

Phase 1 – For professional use only. Cosmelan® 1 Mask is applied in office and left on the skin for a period of time which is determined by your GloAesthetics professional according to skin color and type. The mask is removed with cleansing milk and followed by an application of Hydravital Factor K Cream.

Phase 2 – At home maintenance.Cosmelan® 2 is applied at home according to the recommended protocol of your GloAesthetics professional and is followed daily with Hydravital Factor K Cream and Sunscreen. The objective of this highly effective maintenance cream is to ensure the continued depigmentation of skin discolorations while restoring luminosity.

Results: Cosmelan® Depigmentation Treatment offers a non-invasive depigmentation action for all skin types. Highly effective for all kinds of hyperpigmentation (Melasma, Chloasma, UV and PIH)

What to Expect:

Cosmelan® treatment is very effective in the improvement of dark patches and brown skin blemishes with a very high safety margin.

Cosmelan® treatment’s principal action is the reduction and blending of melanin patches on the face (melasma and Chloasma).

Cosmelan® treatment involves a very versatile, dynamic process which is easily adapted to the needs of each individual patient. Depigmentation action is based on the inhibition of tyrosinase, a basic enzyme in the melanin formation process. Several of the substances present in the Cosmelan® formula act by blocking this melanin-producing enzyme.

The techincal terminology is Melanogenesis comprises the following stages:

TYROSINE proceeds to DOPA by means of TYROSINASE.

DOPA proceeds to DOPAQUINONE by means of TYROSINASE.

DOPAQUINONE proceeds to PHAEOMELANINE and EUMELANIN by means of oxidation and cyclization.

Things to Know:


Please inform your GloAesthetics Professional if you have undergone any previous treatments, especially with glycolic acid. If confirmed, any treatment, especially Glycolic Acid, must be eliminated at least, one week prior to using Cosmelan® Depigmentation treatment. The Cosmelan® Depigmentation treatment initiated at the medical office must be continued at home, on a daily basis, according to the guidelines indicated. The treatment must not be interrupted under any circumstances, during the whole time prescribed. It is completely forbidden to combine the Cosmelan® Depigmentation treatment with other depigmentation treatments, as the appearance of undesired effects cannot be guaranteed. Treatment control visits are recommended. 30 days after beginning of treatment, 30 days after, and a follow up visit every month thereafter.
